It's a Bunny Life

Summary:

I was intrigued to find out more about these pet parcels, especially as Merlin is booked in to be neutered in June and I wanted him to have a few treats and gentle toys to help with his recovery. 

I purchased this web exclusive offer on a Sunday evening choosing to collect it from our nearest Pets at Home store which, incidentally, is a few minutes bike ride away. The email confirmation stated my pet parcel would be available for collection on Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to receive a text Monday morning saying the parcel was ready to collect. Hurrah! Bike clips at the ready...

I popped into the shop, gave my name and code and was given a very well-wrapped parcel. Part of the excitement was not knowing quite was inside.

What Merlin Thought

Gnaw wooden garland - you might be surprised to learn that Merlin isn't a great chewer and so I wasn't expecting very much from this. It's nice to add a bit of colour in the hutch. I have it hanging horizontally along the front of the top level of his outdoor hutch. After adding some mashed blueberry onto one of the wooden pieces Merlin has made a decent go of it. 

Loofa Veg Chew - as you might have seen from the video, Merlin couldn't wait to get his teeth into this. I like the size as it's bigger than most of his toys. He has since taken it up to the top level of his cardboard castle 

Loofa Flower Chew - I have saved this for his recovery cage for after his neutering.

Woodlands Multi Texture throw chew - an instant success! He has also taken that into his pet castle - see a pattern here? The Queen keeps her jewels in the Tower of London so it makes perfect sense that our princely bunny would do something similar.

Woodlands Alfalfa Cubes 500g - at first Merlin simply was not interested. But, I left it in his food bowl overnight along with some of his favourite grass and the next morning it was gone. I have done the same each night for the rest of the week and each morning sees the same result. I am glad to give him something time consuming while us poor humans sleep.

Woodlands Clover and Plantain leaf mix 80g  - I have used a handful each day. Sometimes sprinkling it on our mat in the living room allowing him to happily forage away. I added a little of his favourite grass into the mix as well. I like to lay on the floor whilst he is busy foraging and gently talk to him, congratulating him on his yummy finds. It's a lovely way to spend some quality time together.

Value for money?

With a pet parcel you can save at least 40% when compared with buying the same products separately at standard retail price that means any pet parcel for rabbit is worth at least £16.50.   So let's see..

We gave this pet parcel 4.5 stars out of 5 due to the lack of information as to when the next one will be released so we know how to pace the treats and toys.
